Exit QuickBooks Desktop on the server computer where the company file is saved by selecting the Exit QuickBooks Desktop option from the File tab and going to Explorer.
Press Windows + E to open Windows File Explorer and open the C drive to create a new folder.
Right-click on an empty area on the screen and select the Folder option under the new drop-down menu to create a new folder.
Name this folder QuickBooks Desktop Test Folder and open QuickBooks Desktop to select options for creating a file backup.
When QuickBooks asks you to select a location to save the backup file, choose the folder created above and try to restore the company file using the backup file saved in the new folder.
Solution 4- Check for Issues with Your Company File Name and Edit the Name
If your company file name is not as per the required limit or has extra spaces then error code 6000 is sure to occur.
From the Windows Start menu, go to the Search panel and open the File Explorer window.
From the folder containing your QuickBooks files, locate the company file with the .QBB extension and right-click on it.
Select Rename and review the file name to remove any extra spaces and special characters.
Hit Enter to save the modifications and run the company file in QuickBooks again.
Solution 5- Perform a Firewall Reconfiguration and Provide Access Permissions
Configure your Windows Firewall or Internet security settings to prevent QuickBooks from being blocked when accessing the server.
When you are done check if the permissions to access the company file are available and scan the folder containing the QuickBooks company file to create the Network Description (.ND) file.
Now try to open the company file from a new location.
